Trina Michelle Robinson, an actress and writer living in New York City, is developing a book and theater project based on the diversity of the African diaspora. She currently writes for CafedelaSoul.com, a website focused on the African-American community in Paris, maintains the blog The Passage Project and blogs for Elephant Journal at www.elephantjournal.com. She works as a production editor at T, the style magazine of The New York Times.
Welcome to the blog The Passage Project: A venue for news and cultural events around the globe related to the African Diaspora. Here you will be able to learn about news, people, film, art, theater, architecture, travel, literature and more. The mission of this blog is twofold:
1. To provide a listing of news and events taking place throughout the African Diaspora.
2. To track the progression of the book/documentary theater project also called The Passage Project. This will be done through an exploration of the lives of members of the African Diaspora interviewed by Trina Michelle Robinson.
The Passage Project will challenge commonly held ideas of race with an ultimate goal of connecting people of all backgrounds and cultures. Basically, to see ourselves in one another.
News and events that you would like to see here can be sent to trina@passage-project.com. Thank you and stay tuned.
